/n /n Minimum starting payrates:

  • $31.50 (BSN) /n
  • $30.00 (non-BSN) /n
  • Shiftdifferential:

    $2.00 ( an additional $2.00 if qualified for thenight program) /n

  • Title and salary will be determined based uponeducation and nursing experience. /n /n /n Generous Sign-On Bonusfor experienced nurses: /n /n
  • $15,000 sign-on bonus available fornurses with 1 or more years of experience. /n
  • Candidates hiredinto a sign-on bonus eligible role will be asked to make a two-yearwork commitment. /n /n /n UPMC’s Monthly Loan Repayment program: /n/n
  • Graduate Nurses are eligible to receive a $15,000 student loanrepayment bonus, which is paid out across 3 years.

Purpose& Responsibilities:

/n Patient Care /n /n•

Provide Direct Care:

Use nursing protocols and standards to perform and documentprocedures safely and accurately. Administer medications and IVtherapy following policy. /n

  • Assess and Reassess:

    Evaluate anddocument patient and family needs. Reassess patients every eighthours or as needed. /n

  • Plan Care:

    Involve patients and familiesin creating care plans. Prioritize needs, conduct care conferences,and maintain up-to-date care plans. Coordinate with communityagencies and other professionals. /n /n Coordination andCommunication /n /n

  • Engage in
Team Discussions:

Work with medicalstaff and other professionals to discuss and develop patient careplans. /n

  • Utilize Systems:

    Use Bed Management System, Alpha,CPOE, and other relevant computer systems efficiently. /n /nEducation and Leadership /n /n

  • Teach and Educate:

    Initiate healthteaching for patients and families based on their needs. Contributeto the education of staff and students. /n

Consult and Lead:

Offer guidance and support to other healthcare team members.

Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions. /n /n Safety andCompliance /n /n

  • Follow Precautions:

    Adhere to universalprecautions and occupational exposure policies. Identify andaddress potential problems and environmental factors affectingpatient care. /n

Maintain Competency:

Complete annual competencyvalidation and stay proficient in point-of-care testing as per labcriteria. /n

Education andFormal Training Required:

  • Must hold a current license topractice nursing in the State of Pennsylvania
  • /n•Mustsatisfactorily complete the Nursing Department’s orientationprogram and probationary period.

/n /n

Licensure, Certifications,and Clearances:

/n /n

  • CPR required based on AHA standards thatinclude both a didactic and skills demonstration component within30 days of hire /n
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) /n
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /n
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) /n
  • Registered Nurse (RN) /n
  • Act 34 /n/n
  • Current licensure either in the state where the facility islocated or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistateNursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate licenseissued by a participating NLC state.
