- Title and salary will be determined basedupon education and nursing experience. /n /n /n Generous Sign-OnBonus for experienced nurses: /n /n
- $15,000 sign-on bonusavailable for nurses with 1 or more years of experience. /n
- Candidates hired into a sign-on bonus eligible role will be askedto make a two-year work commitment. /n /n /n UPMC’s Monthly LoanRepayment program: /n /n

Purpose & Responsibilities:
/n Patient Care /n /n

Provide Direct Care:
Use nursing protocols and standards to performand document procedures safely and accurately. Administermedications and IV therapy following policy. /n

Assess andReassess:
Evaluate and document patient and family needs. Reassesspatients every eight hours or as needed. /n

Plan Care:
Involvepatients and families in creating care plans. Prioritize needs,conduct care conferences, and maintain up-to-date care plans.
Coordinate with community agencies and other professionals. /n /nCoordination and Communication /n /n
- Engage in
Team Discussions:
Work with medical staff and other professionals to discuss anddevelop patient care plans. /n

Utilize Systems:
Use BedManagement System, Alpha, CPOE, and other relevant computer systemsefficiently. /n /n Education and Leadership /n /n

Teach andEducate:
Initiate health teaching for patients and families basedon their needs. Contribute to the education of staff and students./n

Consult and Lead:
Offer guidance and support to otherhealthcare team members. Demonstrate professionalism in allinteractions. /n /n Safety and Compliance /n /n

FollowPrecautions:
Adhere to universal precautions and occupationalexposure policies. Identify and address potential problems andenvironmental factors affecting patient care. /n

MaintainCompetency:
Complete annual competency validation and stayproficient in point-of-care testing as per lab criteria. /n
Experience Required:

Education and FormalTraining Required:

- Must hold a current license to practicenursing in the State of Pennsylvania
- /n•Must satisfactorilycomplete the Nursing Department’s orientation program andprobationary period.

Licensure, Certifications, andClearances:
/n /n
- CPR required based on AHA standards thatinclude both a didactic and skills demonstration component within30 days of hire /n
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) /n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /n
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification /n
- Registered Nurse (RN) /n
- Act 34 /n /n
- Current licensure eitherin the state where the facility is located or, if the facility isin a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact(NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLCstate.
