PayInformation $2,008 per week About The Position A Registered Nurse(RN) – Clinic is responsible for providing direct patient care inan outpatient clinic setting. This role involves assessing,educating, and coordinating the care of patients in collaborationwith healthcare providers. Clinic RNs play a key role in managingchronic conditions, performing diagnostic tests, administeringtreatments and medications, and ensuring a positive patientexperience in a non-acute, often preventive care environment. Thisposition requires strong communication, clinical skills, and afocus on patient education and support.
Key Responsibilities :
Patient Assessment and Care :
Perform initial and ongoing patientassessments, including reviewing medical history, vital signs, andrelevant symptoms. Collect patient data, including currentmedications, allergies, and health concerns, to help guidediagnosis and treatment plans. Assist providers with physical examsand assist with diagnostic procedures or minor treatments asneeded. Administer medications, vaccines, and injections perphysician orders and within scope of practice.
Patient Educationand Counseling :
Educate patients about their medical conditions,prescribed medications, lifestyle changes, and preventive carestrategies (e.g., diet, exercise, smoking cessation). Provideinstructions for home care, such as wound care, medicationmanagement, and follow-up care after procedures. Offer emotionalsupport and counseling to patients, especially for those withchronic conditions, helping them manage their health outside of theclinic setting.
Treatment Administration and Procedures :
Administer prescribed treatments, including IV infusions, blooddraws, and wound care, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Assistwith routine diagnostic tests, such as EKGs, laboratory specimencollection, and basic imaging procedures. Prepare and managemedical equipment and instruments, ensuring they are sanitized andready for use.
Coordination of Care :
Collaborate with thehealthcare team (physicians, nurse practitioners, medicalassistants) to create and implement individualized care plans.
Schedule follow-up appointments, diagnostic tests, and specialtyconsultations as needed. Communicate effectively with patients,families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care andseamless transitions between appointments or procedures. Monitorpatient progress and provide ongoing support to ensure treatmentplans are being followed.
Health Promotion and Preventive Care :
Advocate for patient wellness by promoting preventive services suchas annual check-ups, cancer screenings, immunizations, and wellnessexams. Identify risk factors for common conditions and provideeducational materials and resources to encourage healthy lifestylechanges. Assist in managing chronic disease care (e.g., diabetes,hypertension, asthma) by monitoring patient symptoms and supportingself-management strategies.
Documentation and Record Keeping :
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronicmedical record (EMR) system, documenting patient history,assessments, treatments, and outcomes. Ensure all patientinteractions, diagnoses, and treatments are appropriatelydocumented in accordance with clinic protocols and legal standards.
Complete necessary paperwork, such as consent forms, insuranceverifications, and referrals, in a timely manner.
Infection Controland Safety :
Adhere to infection control practices, includingproper hand hygiene, sterilization of medical equipment, andensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, including properdisposal of medical waste and monitoring for potential patientsafety hazards.
Administrative and Support Functions :
Assist inthe triage of patient calls, answering medical inquiries, andadvising on home care instructions or follow-up procedures. Supportclinic operations by managing patient flow, maintaining supplies,and handling administrative tasks as required. Maintain inventoryof medical supplies and medications, ordering and restocking asneeded to ensure clinic operations run smoothly.
QualityImprovement and Professional Development :
Participate in clinicquality improvement initiatives, ensuring that care processes arecontinuously evaluated and improved. Stay current with the latestmedical guidelines, nursing practices, and clinic protocols throughongoing professional development, training, and certification.
