Job Description:
SUMMARY:

Immaculata University invites applications for Chair of the Division of Nursing (DON). The Chair will oversee the pre-licensure BSN, Accelerated BSN, RN to BSN and MSN programs. MSN and earned doctorate in nursing or related field required with teaching experience in undergraduate program highly desirable. Candidates, interested in working with a team to implement innovative educational strategies to a diverse student population, are encouraged to apply. Nursing administration and experience with Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include overseeing the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, establishing faculty professional development opportunities and supporting the university’s mission and vision, scholarship and service through participation in division, university and professional activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Immaculata University
Ensure congruence between the mission of the DON and University and the educational goals of DON academic programs.
Facilitate scheduling of DON courses based on curriculum pathways and enrollment projections.
Assign faculty workload in collaboration with the Dean, CNHP and Program Directors
Facilitate state-of-the-art curricular design ensuring alignment with current academic trends, accreditation standards, and evolving/innovative pedagogies.
Oversee curriculum/program/student evaluation and ongoing curricular revisions based on evaluation metrics and benchmarks in collaboration with the Dean, CNHP and Program Directors.
Direct recruitment, orientation, retention, advising and timely graduation of students.
Oversee faculty personnel matters related to teaching and learning practices within the academic programs and remediate unsatisfactory performance in collaboration with the Dean, CNHP and Program Directors.
Provide leadership, according to established policies in response to student concerns, in the resolution of conflicts, appeals, and disputes/grievances.
Participate in faculty recruitment, selection, and hiring processes.
Prepare all documentation required to maintain or obtain accreditation or approval of the nursing programs established through the accrediting agencies and State Board of Nursing.
Assist in the preparation of academic program proposals for new/proposed programs within the DON.
Maintain strong working relationships with federal, state and local constituencies, accrediting bodies, nursing boards, clinical agencies, specialty organizations, students, preceptors, faculty and alumni.
Develop initiatives to integrate the DON and its communities of interest.
In collaboration with other Directors, ensure the integrity of the curriculum and policies across DON programs.
In collaboration with the Dean, CNHP and Program Directors, assist in developing and managing the annual budget.
In collaboration with the Dean, CNHP, develop an annual set of goals and objectives that guide the activities of the academic programs at all campuses/locations.
Participate in DON, CNHP, and University strategic planning and budget development, as assigned.
Serve as DON representative to appropriate University academic and administrative departments, including external regulatory and accreditation bodies, when requested/appropriate.
Establish policies and programs that demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive environment that attracts and retains a diverse workforce where every employee and student feels valued and can function at their best.
Participate in the ongoing implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of the undergraduate nursing program to reflect CCNE, AACN, and SBON standards, current evidence and best practices.
Participate in university committees, and Division of Nursing and campus events to support institutional goals and community engagement.

Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and doctoral degree (in Nursing or a related field) are required
Active licensure as registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Experience in administering an undergraduate nursing program

Preferred Requirements:

A record of clinical and teaching experience is preferred
