Hillcrest Hospital’s 5 Seidman Renal/Medical/ComplexCare Unit provides care and treatment to acutely ill adult andgeriatric patients who require inpatient or observation care.

Patients in this unit have renal diseases, respiratory diseases,cardiac diseases, diabetes and other chronic diseases. This unitalso specializes in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis while alsoproviding treatments such as cardiac monitoring, IV therapy,nutritional support, diagnostic testing and spiritual support. As aNew Graduate Registered Nurse (RN), you will participate in ayear-long residency program, customized to fit you, your needs andyour pace, where you will provide direct nursing care, be pairedwith a coach that guides you toward success, develop clinicaljudgement, cultivate excellent communication skills and acquirecomplex nursing skills. A caregiver in this position works nightsfrom 7:00PM

  • 7:30AM, with every other weekend and holidayrequirements. The ideal future caregiver is someone who:

  • Participatein a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity ofneed, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Respond todata indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action tocorrect, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultationand assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records. Minimum qualifications forthe ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate from an accreditedschool of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as aRegistered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationthrough the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • New graduate RN ORless than one year of RN work experience Preferred qualificationsfor the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and liftingpatient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Exposureto communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work
  • Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demandrequirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
PersonalProtective Equipment:
