• 1 per shift (may vary by census
• Responsible for all patients on the unit
• Float RN available foradmissions, discharges, IVs, etc. Nurse Aides (CNA):
• 1st & 2ndshift: 2-3 aides (census dependent)
• 3rd shift: 1-2 aides

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

• Example:

  At census of 18, 2 nurses cover9 patients each

• At higher census (20-32):
• 3 nurses onday/evening shifts
• 2 nurses on night shift
