31.00 – 49.50 Job Summary The Peer Review Specialistfacilitates provider peer review processes at a regional level.
Assists in the monitoring of quality of care provided in inpatientand outpatient settings through focused studies and assignedroutine monitoring, utilizing defined guidelines and criteria ofthe Medical Staff. Gathers clinical data, prepares summary reports,and presents findings derived from data systems and ongoingmonitoring activities to persons and committees for use in MedicalStaff peer review processes and activities to include case review,Ongoing and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation, andevaluation of provider applications for appointment, reappointmentand request for clinical privileges. Collaborates with regionalcounterparts to standardize processes and provide assistance asnecessary. Qualifications Graduate from a nationally accreditednursing program preferred, including, but not limited to,Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), AccreditationCommission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League forNursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board ofNursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possessmultistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specificcompetencies and certifications.
