RequiredQualifications:
  • One year’s recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS(AHA/ ARC) Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification PreferredQualifications:
  • PALS or ENPC Certifications
  • RCIS certification
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for thisposition
Summary:

The Travel Cath Lab RN provides specialized carefor patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventionaltreatments. The RN prepares patients for procedures, assists duringinterventions, and monitors immediate post-procedure recovery.

Working closely with cardiologists and cath lab teams, this rolerequires advanced cardiac care skills, cardiac catheterizationskills, strong communication, and the ability to adapt quicklywhile maintaining strict safety and regulatory standards.

EssentialWork Functions:
  • Conduct assessment of patients prior toprocedures, including reviewing medical history, performingphysical exams
  • Assist in positioning patients correctly for theprocedure and ensure EKG electrodes and cardiac leads are properlyplaced
  • Assist physicians during procedures, including theplacement of catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heartdevices, and other cardiac interventions
  • Operate and monitorhemodynamic equipment, recognizing and responding to changes incardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms
  • Assist in arterialand/or venous sheath removal using closure devices, manualpressure, or mechanical compression, and transport patients to theappropriate recovery area
  • Monitor vital signs, ECG, andhemodynamic parameters during cardiac catheterization andinterventional procedure
  • Support post-procedure care, includingmonitoring patient recovery and ensuring a smooth transition to thenext phase of care
  • Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment,ensuring everything is functioning properly and fully stocked forprocedures
  • Communicate effectively with team members, patients,families, and physicians to provide seamless care
  • Adhere tohospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, andregulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned within thescope of practice
Required Essential Skills:
  • Critical thinking,service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English languageis required
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions,follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as wellas working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able tocontend with irregular activity schedules occasionally andcontinuous concentration to detail
