Overview Join a dynamic neuro-focused medical-surgical unit at a comprehensive stroke center in Allentown, PA. This Night Shift Med-Surg Neuro RN position is ideal for experienced nurses ready to manage a complex patient population including strokes, neurotrauma, and post-op spine cases.

Minimum Requirements Experience:

2+ years recent Med-Surg experience Stroke certification

• Required Licensure:

  Active PA RN license or Compact equivalent

• Required at submission

Certifications:

BLS

• Required NIHSS
• Required ACLS

• Preferred System Experience:

  Epic

Required First-Time Travelers:

Accepted Patient Population Adult patients with ischemic/hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizures, neuromuscular disorders, brain/spinal tumors, subdural hematomas, post-neurosurgery, and complex spine cases

Unit Census:

35 beds

Ratios:

1:5 Days, 1:6 Nights (1:8 with LPN support) Skills Preferred Stroke & neuro care (e.g., TBI, spinal cord injury, CVA management) Tracheostomy care Ventilation support (CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen delivery devices) Phlebotomy, peripheral/PICC line management IV insulin protocols, wound care, blood product administration Dysrhythmia interpretation/response, rapid response
