Job Summary Under the general direction of Nursing Leadership andin collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the RegisteredNurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with theState Nurse Practice Act, and policies and procedures of thehospital. This position develops a plan of care for complex,multi-varianced population of patients, which includes standards ofpractice to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, andeducational needs of the patient and family. QualificationsEducation

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing.
  • Successful completion of nurseresidency, if applicable. Experience
  • One year of experience witha minimum of 1000 hours of clinical experience as a licensedregistered nurse. Licensure, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Nurse, State of CT
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialedfrom the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Additionalcertifications may be required in specific specialties LanguageSkills Must be able to effectively communicate information inEnglish. Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
  • Applies theprinciples and practices of nursing.
  • Membership in a professionalnursing organization preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop,deliver and evaluate patient care.
  • Cares for a full patientassignment with expanding scope of responsibilities over time.
  • Knowledge of high reliability.
  • Strong communication skills, bothverbal and written. Uses communication skills to foster a healthywork environment and facilitate positive patient outcomes andexperience.
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in all interactionswith patients/families and co-workers.
  • Strong knowledge of anddemonstrated skills in providing care for age specific populations.
  • Strong ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Abilityto act as a preceptor and charge nurse as needed.
  • Self-directedin clinical responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage and organizemultiple clinical priorities.
  • Strong computer skills and use ofindustry applications/programs.

Ability to learn new technology andprograms as advancements and changes are implemented.
