THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CNRP) to be part of our medical team at Torrance State Hospital. In this role, you will provide direction to licensed and non-licensed staff to ensure quality patient care is provided to our patients while using your clinical skills and good bedside manner. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for the care and treatment of mentally ill patients, as well as the diagnosis, determination of treatment methods, and leadership in the implementation of treatment plans, and discharge planning. In this position, you will perform physical and neurological exams at admission, review records and documents, and formulate medical diagnoses and treatment plans. You can expect to provide health maintenance and preventive services by performing annual physical and neurological examinations and reviewing the previous year’s medical illnesses and treatment. Some of your duties will include making daily unit rounds, examining patients, reviewing and following up with studies and reports, and ordering labs and other diagnostic studies. You may be assigned to provide medical or psychiatric coverage in other areas as needed. Additionally, you will conduct treatment team meetings in the absence of the psychiatrist. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment + Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday
- Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:
+ You must have possession of a valid certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Conditions of Employment:
+ This position requires possession of a valid CRNP certification in an Adult Care specialty area or Family Care specialty area as issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
Post Employment Requirements:
+ This position is required to obtain and maintain valid CRNP Prescriptive Authority Approval to prescribe and dispense drugs as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
+ PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currently waived for this title. + You must be able to perform essential job functions.
