DESCRIPTION OF

WORKAs a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for the care and treatment of mentally ill patients, as well as the diagnosis, determination of treatment methods, and leadership in the implementation of treatment plans, and discharge planning. In this position, you will perform physical and neurological exams at admission, review records and documents, and formulate medical diagnoses and treatment plans. You can expect to provide health maintenance and preventive services by performing annual physical and neurological examinations and reviewing the previous year’s medical illnesses and treatment. Some of your duties will include making daily unit rounds, examining patients, reviewing and following up with studies and reports, and ordering labs and other diagnostic studies. You may be assigned to provide medical or psychiatric coverage in other areas as needed. Additionally, you will conduct treatment team meetings in the absence of the psychiatrist.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

You must have possession of a valid certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Conditions of Employment:

This position requires possession of a valid CRNP certification in an Adult Care specialty area or Family Care specialty area as issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.

Post Employment Requirements:

This position is required to obtain and maintain valid CRNP Prescriptive Authority Approval to prescribe and dispense drugs as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
