Shifts/Hours:
Our RNs work a rotating 12-hour schedule to ensure24/7 coverage on the floor. /n /n Graduate Nurses must be eligiblefor State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examinationbefore beginning this role OR ability to start with TPP and mustobtain license within 6 months of beginning position. Applicantswill be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the MyNursing Career Ladder based on their individual experience andeducation. /n The individual must be able to demonstrate theknowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interactappropriately to the ages of the patients served by his/herassigned unit as specified below. They must also demonstrateknowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of thepatients status and interpret the appropriate information needed toidentify each patients requirements relative to his/herage-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described inthe department policy and procedures. Minimum six monthsexperience. BSN preferred. Ability to establish and maintainpositive, caring relationships with executives, managers,physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff,other departments, and patients/families. Ability to workproductively and effectively within a complex environment, handlemultiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment. Goodclinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problemsolving abilities required as related to various aspects of patientcare. Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to leadothers in application of the nursing process. Mobility and visualmanual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing,lifting and positioning of patients. /n /n
- /n Completion of UPMCStudent Nurse Internship Program or student clinical transitionscourse at UPMC preferred. /n /n
- /n Demonstrate the knowledge andskills needed to provide care and interact with all ages ofpatients. /n /n
- /n Understand the principles of growth anddevelopment over the lifespan. /n /n
- /n Assess data on patients’statuses to identify each patient’s specific care needs. /n /n
- /nEstablish and maintain positive, caring relationships with patientsand their families, executives, managers, physicians, non-physicianproviders, ancillary and support staff, and other departments. /n/n
- /n Work productively and effectively in an environment withchanging priorities that require specialized skills.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
UPMC approved nationalcertification preferred. Current licensure as a RegisteredProfessional Nurse either in the state where the facility islocated or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement withthe state where the facility is located. CPR required based on AHAstandards that include both a didactic and skills demonstrationcomponent within 30 days of hire Clearances must be dated within 90days /n /n /n

- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification /n
