Under the direction and generalsupervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizesevidence based practices in accordance with the State NursePractice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and asdirected by the medical staff. The registered nurse who throughknowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan ofcare which includes standards of practice to meet the physical,emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patientand family. The Oncology Unit at MidState Medical Center includes astaff of Registered Nurses, Nurse Assistants, AdministrativeSupport Staff, with attending Physicians and Mid-level providersavailable 24-7. Our unit is equipped with the highest levels oftechnology including Electronic Patient Records. Our staff works ina collaborative environment with strong interdisciplinary teams ina patient centered care model with a richly diverse work space.
