Wound Care Nurse (APRN) 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Coventry, RI Due to growth needs in the state, we are looking for an awesome provider to join the team starting part time three days a week and grow to full time at five days a week! We have flexibility on the provider’s location within Rhode Island! Wound Care Specialists LLC (WCS) is a locally owned, industry leading physician and nurse practitioner practice group providing specialized wound care management of approximately to 200 post-acute and long-term care facilities across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Our providers conduct weekly bedside consultations in skilled nursing facilities with superior clinical outcomes, exceptional healing rates, and significantly reduced wound related complications and hospitalizations. A Wound APRN with WCS is required to work in tandem with the designated wound nurse from each facility they serve, with a focus on customer service, approachability and teamwork. A provider on the team will round within approximately 6-12 client facilities each week within a small local foot print depending on if in part time or full time. They are only in the field clinically as long as needed to see the wounds in their schedule that day! Our goal is for our providers to meet the facility needs while having a personal work/life balance which this profession doesn’t always allow for.

Functions:

Participate in weekly conservative bedside wound rounds with facility nursing staff Change dressings and focus on conservative care; performing debridement only as deemed necessary Establish plan of care until subsequent visit Provide occasional in-servicing on wound care topics for facility staff Work within facility protocols and formulary

Qualifications:

No required years of specific experience needed! Whether you are a new NP or are looking for a change years into your career we will train you. No wound care certification required as we will pay to get you certified during training License to practice/bill in the state of RI required.
