We are seeking an Interventional Radiology RN to join our team at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. In this role, you will work under the Nurse Manager, Lead Nurse of Interventional Radiology, and the Medical Director of IR, CT, MRI and US. You will also work with the Nursing Directors of Adult Patient Services to provide nursing care to Diagnostic Imaging patients in adherence to Rhode Island Hospital’s policies and procedures. Full and Part-time opportunities available.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate patient conditions during the pre, peri, and post-procedural phases (including monitoring vital signs, invasive pressure, and EKG changes) and provide medications as necessary Support radiologists during procedures and treatments that require nursing expertise Communicate with radiology nurses, physicians, technologists, and other caregivers about patient conditions, treatments, and outcomes Prioritize nursing duties within the department, including the Pre and Post Procedure Room, and take the lead in the Pre and Post Procedure Room when necessary Respond to calls as per IR call policy and collaborate with the IR technologist to prepare the patient and the room for procedures
Qualifications:
1 year of ICU-level critical care or 2 years ER nursing experience; minimum 1 year of trauma room experience preferred Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island
ACLS & BLS
certified Demonstrate mature judgment and proficiency in nursing skills including ability to perform physical assessments, aseptic techniques, and IV skills Proven knowledge and skills to care for patients throughout the aging process and across human development stages and cultural patterns at every step of the care process Working at Brown University Health As of October 15, 2024, Lifespan is now Brown University Health.
