Nursing Full Job Description Location :

Registration Center Summer School Nurse Teacher (1 position)

Program Dates:

July 7•July 31, 2025

Hours :

Monday•Friday 8:15am•2:15pm Under the direction of the Director of Student Registration and Placement and /or appropriate supervisor, the summer School Nurse Teachers will assist in the registration process by reviewing the medical records of incoming students for all necessary immunizations and/or physical exams Daily rate of pay (Contingent upon Funding)

EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in school nursing from an accredited college or university. Current license to practice as a registered nurse. Successful experience as a registered nurse for a minimum of 3 years

CPR/AED/First Aid Certified RIDE Requirements:

School Nurse Teacher Certificate ESL Preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS

Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited teacher education program Prior experience in a nursing position, especially in an urban setting (preferred) Excellent communication skills Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with others Ability to work under pressure PK-12 Nurse must have: CPR Certification First Aid Certification Valid Rhode Island driver’s license Current Healthcare Provider Insurance required

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES

Review health records of all registrants. Monitor general health of all incoming registrants. Collect, record, and maintain data for registration center. Must commit to working every day Must currently be working in the area of certification for which the applicant is applying. Must be familiar with school policy and discipline procedures. Must be familiar with emergency procedures. Must be able to work with counselor, placement and clerical staff. Must be knowledgeable of State rules and regulations as they pertain to immunizations and other health requirements needed in order for students to attend public schools.
