We have partnered withthe Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ to provide resources tohelp new nurses gain confidence and increase competence during this12-month program. Your well-being as a new nurse is enhancedthrough hands-on training and processing clinical experiences.

Nurse Residents will be hired directly to a specialty area wherethey will receive focused clinical education. The positions offeredvary based on the needs of the hospital and may include CriticalCare, Progressive Care Unit, Med / Surg, Cardiology / Telemetry,Emergency, Operating Room, Oncology and Orthopedic units. Inaddition to clinical immersion on the unit, Nurse Residents meet ina classroom format to share experiences and receive additionaleducation and training.   • Every newly licensed RN (completion of NCLEX with activeCT RN license) with less than one-year experience

Qualifications Education :

Graduate of a school of nursing (or soonto be)

Experience:

New RN Graduate Nurses or newly licensed RNs.

License and Certification:
  • Active State of CT RN license. Newgraduates may start employment under Graduate Nurse license status(per the State of CT DPH guidelines) with pending license and mustsuccessfully complete first NCLEX testing and hold active licensewithin 90 days from graduation date. Once active state of CT RNlicense is obtained newly-licensed nurse will be placed into NurseResident program cohort sessions.
  • Current Basic Life Support(BLS) upon hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain departmentspecific certifications.

By completing the Nurse Residency Program,newly-licensed nurses are able to competently and safely manage afull patient assignment with confidence, and will bewell-positioned to become future leaders in the nursingprofession.
