Job Description
Using the principles of Transformational Leadership and Structural Empowerment, the Director provides leadership, guidance and direction in achieving outcomes consistent with organizational mission, philosophy, goals and objectives. The director assumes responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of clinically effective and efficient systems of care and service within the continuum of care. The Nursing Director is recognized as a professional role model and promotes a professional environment that supports continuous learning, patient and worker safety. In addition, this leader supports and engages all staff to influence the overall patient experience. This is accomplished by direct involvement, appropriate delegation, coaching and support of unit-based shared governance councils.
Qualifications:
Minimum of eight years’ experience in nursing. At least two year’s clinical experience specific to area of responsibility. Minimum of five years supervisory or management experience. Masters degree required, and if not MSN, then a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is also required. Certification in Nurse Executive, Advanced or ability to obtain within 24 months required. Excellent written and verbal skills. Strong organizational skills. Licensed as RN in South Carolina.
