Job Summary :
A Telemetry Registered Nurse (Tele RN) provides specialized care topatients who require continuous monitoring of vital signs, heartrhythms, and other key physiological functions. Tele RNs assess,plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with acute andchronic conditions, focusing on monitoring, medicationadministration, and ensuring the safe and effective management ofcardiac and other medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities :
Monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetryequipment, identifying and responding to abnormal readings orchanges in condition. Administer medications, perform routine assessments, and provideinterventions based on telemetry data to ensure patients’ safetyand well-being. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and otherhealthcare providers to develop and adjust care plans tailored tothe needs of patients with cardiac or medical conditions. Interpret cardiac rhythms and ECGs, recognizing signs ofarrhythmias, ischemia, and other cardiac abnormalities. Provide patient and family education regarding cardiac conditions,medication management, lifestyle modifications, and preventionstrategies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care,ensuring timely responses to changing patient conditions andcomplications. Monitor and assess patients for symptoms of heart failure,hypertension, and other cardiac or medical concerns. Administer and monitor telemetry devices, including centraltelemetry units and mobile monitors, to ensure continuousmonitoring of patient cardiac activity. Recognize and respond to acute cardiac events such as chest pain,arrhythmias, or other cardiac emergencies, initiating appropriateinterventions as needed. Document patient care, treatments, and telemetry data accuratelyand thoroughly, ensuring compliance with clinical standards andregulatory requirements. Provide discharge planning and education to patients and familiesregarding medication, lifestyle adjustments, and follow-upcare.
Qualifications :
Education :
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
Licensure :
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Certification :
