Employment Type:

Travel Candidates need to have recent Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures experience.

Schedule Notes:

Interventional radiology/ Imaging RN 8a-430p and on-call requirements for afterhours/weekends/holidays

  • float and call requirements to cover Mount Pleasant Hospital.

On call one weekday/ week and every 4th weekend.

Education & Certification Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Preferred ; required within five (5) years of hire if not already held (exemptions may apply based on internal transfers) Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina or a valid compact/multi-state license
  • Required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Required American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers card

Required Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act and established institutional policies. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using professional nursing theory and practice. The RN will collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal care outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide patient-centered care aligned with nursing best practices and institutional standards. Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans. Implement appropriate nursing interventions and evaluate patient responses. Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in the medical record. Maintain patient safety and infection control standards. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Respond calmly and efficiently to emergency situations. Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Adhere to all HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, and clinical standards. Familiarity with healthcare policies, procedures, and common safety protocols. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments. Proficiency in recordkeeping, report writing, and electronic medical documentation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and team members. Ability to remain calm and effective in emergencies and high-stress conditions. Must demonstrate teamwork, empathy, and a commitment to patient advocacy.

Physical & Work Environment Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and patient handling. Lifting and moving up to 50 lbs occasionally. Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious materials. Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Exposure to moderate noise and a fast-paced, high-pressure clinical setting. May involve working irregular hours, weekends, holidays, or being on-call, based on departmental needs.
