Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processwithin applicable scope and standards of practice. Also providesnursing leadership for a specific area or unit. Experienced RN withgood communication and critical thinking skills (analytical abilityto resolve problems) who will be responsible for coordination ofpatient flow and liaison for communication among all care providersinternally and externally.

Reports to:

Director CCU and Emergency Services Performs plan of care intervention, including medicationadministration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as wellas other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriateto care team, physician, patient and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living,including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition andambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patientcare, including patient transfer, discharge, referral andspiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and providespatient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition andcircumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being ofthe patient. Work as RN Charge as needed. Responsibility in supervising nursingand support staff during assigned shift. Determines staffing leveland assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities,census, patient acuity and work/patient flow. Handle with Care participation annually or CPI participation every2 years.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required. Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in astressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Skills American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must be obtainedwithin 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12months of employment Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required within 12 months ofemployment TNCC and ENPC certifications preferred

Required Skills License:

Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure Minimum Work Experience One year experience as RN and/or RN Charge Nurse in EmergencyServices setting preferred
