Description The registered nurse assumes principalresponsibility for total care of assigned clients in the respectiveunit. Essential Duties

• This nurse is responsible for theprocesses of assessment, reassessment, establishment of nursingdiagnoses, formulation of the written plan of care, implementationof care, and evaluation of care
• The nurse initiates health caretraining and education to the client / family as required whilesupporting and fostering the goals of Andalusia Health and theDepartment of Nursing
• The registered nurse demonstrates awarenessof ongoing needs of the unit and provides leadership and directionto other team members in maintaining optimal standards of nursingcare
• The position is accountable for the supervision of otherlicensed and non-licensed nursing personnel for assigned units
• The position requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to workall shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensurecontinuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to thepatients of Andalusia Health on all units
• The registered nurse isresponsible for providing care to all of the patient populationwith consideration to age-specificity and diagnosis QualificationsEducation and Experience
• Associate’s degree: Required RequiredSkills
• Required ability to function in stressful situations
• Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to nursingtheory and practice
• Ability to accept responsibility andaccountability to provide, delegate, and coordinate nursing careprovided on assigned units as required with leadership qualities
• The position requires the cognitive ability and practical abilityto provide nursing care appropriate to the patient populationassigned, considering client age and diagnosis with fullimplementation of the nursing process to includeassessment/reassessment, nursing diagnosis, planning,implementation and evaluation Required Skills

• Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS) Required Skills

• Licenses:

  Current license to practice as aRegistered Nurse in the State of Alabama Required Skills

• BLS/CPRrequired within 30 days of hire date
• ACLS required within 6months of employment
