Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, to plan,implement and evaluate care. Documents resident history, symptoms,medications and care provided in compliance with applicablestandards/regulations. Utilizes technology to enhance qualityresident care, to collaborate with inter-professional team members,effectively delegate to and supervise unlicensed personnel, assumeoverall nursing accountability for a resident assignment and servein leadership roles on department/organizational tasks forces andcommittees. Demonstrates competency and practices within the fullscope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate ageand population specific standards as designated in the specificcare area or unit. Must have effective communication skills tocollaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts, situations, and/orissues with peers, inter-professional colleagues, residents andfamilies. Must have strong clinical reasoning and critical thinkingskills to analyze data and appropriately respond to changingsituations. coordination of care, resident assessment, residenteducation, triage, and various other nursing interventions.
Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice asoutlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules instate of practice and licensure. The Sanford Professional NursingPractice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and theCode of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as publishedby the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursingcare delivery and professional conduct. Qualifications Bachelor’sdegree in nursing preferred. Graduate from a nationally accreditednursing program preferred, including, but not limited to,Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), AccreditationCommission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League forNursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).Minimum of two years’ long term care or geriatric nursingexperience preferred. Minimum Data Set (MDS) experience preferredbut not required. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license withthe State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing isoccurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a NurseLicensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintainsrequired department specific competencies and certifications.
Depending on location, a valid drivers license may be required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Resident Assessment Instrument(RAI) process experience preferred, but not required.
