Description The registered nurse assumes principal responsibility for totalcare of assigned clients in the respective unit. Essential Duties This nurse is responsible for the processes of assessment,reassessment, establishment of nursing diagnoses, formulation ofthe written plan of care, implementation of care, and evaluation ofcare The nurse initiates health care training and education to theclient / family as required while supporting and fostering thegoals of Andalusia Health and the Department of Nursing The registered nurse demonstrates awareness of ongoing needs ofthe unit and provides leadership and direction to other teammembers in maintaining optimal standards of nursing care The position is accountable for the supervision of otherlicensed and non-licensed nursing personnel for assigned units The position requires flexibility in scheduling and ability towork all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensurecontinuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to thepatients of Andalusia Health on all units The registered nurse is responsible for providing care to allof the patient population with consideration to age-specificity anddiagnosis Qualifications Education and Experience Associate’s degree: Required Required Skills Required ability to function in stressful situations Verbal ability to present information and ideas related tonursing theory and practice Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to provide,delegate, and coordinate nursing care provided on assigned units asrequired with leadership qualities The position requires the cognitive ability and practicalability to provide nursing care appropriate to the patientpopulation assigned, considering client age and diagnosis with fullimplementation of the nursing process to includeassessment/reassessment, nursing diagnosis, planning,implementation and evaluation
Required Skills Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Required Skills Licenses:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse inthe State of Alabama Required Skills BLS/CPR required within 30 days of hire date ACLS required within 6 months of employment
