Description The registered nurse assumes principalresponsibility for total care of assigned clients in the respectiveunit. Essential Duties This nurse is responsible for the processesof assessment, reassessment, establishment of nursing diagnoses,formulation of the written plan of care, implementation of care,and evaluation of care The nurse initiates health care training andeducation to the client / family as required while supporting andfostering the goals of Andalusia Health and the Department ofNursing The registered nurse demonstrates awareness of ongoingneeds of the unit and provides leadership and direction to otherteam members in maintaining optimal standards of nursing care Theposition is accountable for the supervision of other licensed andnon-licensed nursing personnel for assigned units The positionrequires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shiftpatterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity ofcare and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients ofAndalusia Health on all units The registered nurse is responsiblefor providing care to all of the patient population withconsideration to age-specificity and diagnosis QualificationsEducation and Experience Associate’s degree: Required RequiredSkills Required ability to function in stressful situations Verbalability to present information and ideas related to nursing theoryand practice Ability to accept responsibility and accountability toprovide, delegate, and coordinate nursing care provided on assignedunits as required with leadership qualities The position requiresthe cognitive ability and practical ability to provide nursing careappropriate to the patient population assigned, considering clientage and diagnosis with full implementation of the nursing processto include assessment/reassessment, nursing diagnosis, planning,implementation and evaluation

BasicLife Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Required Skills Licenses:

Current license to practice as aRegistered Nurse in the State of Alabama Required Skills BLS/CPRrequired within 30 days of hire date ACLS required within 6 monthsof employment
