Facility in Myrtle Beach, SC Job Details FusionMedical Staffing is seeking a skilled CVOR RN for a 13 week travelassignment in Myrtle Beach, SC. RequiredQualifications:
One year of recent experience as a CVOR RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ ARC)
Certification Preferred Qualifications:
ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for thisposition
Summary:
The CVOR nurse has the responsibility ofproviding direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients.
The CVOR nurse assists in monitoring and supporting the patientthroughout the surgical procedure. They are responsible forcollaborating closely with the entire surgical team to ensure theoptimization of patient outcomes by confirming all necessarysurgical supplies and equipment are sterile and functional,assisting with safe patient positioning and draping, andcoordinating immediate post-surgical continued patient care.
Essential Work Functions:
Maintain proficiency in Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic surgicalprocedures including open and closed heart surgeries Prepare the Cardiovascular operating room for the patient andsurgical procedure Assemble equipment, supplies, medications, and implants,ensuring equipment functions and supplies are available Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists,and the surgical team to deliver coordinated care Utilize data from surgical preference cards for the surgicalprocedure and surgeon Position patients safely using approved devices to preventinjury and enable optimal surgical exposure Actively participate in Universal Protocol and timeout toconfirm patient identity, procedure, and surgical site Handle and document specimens accurately to ensure diagnosticintegrity Provide post-surgical care coordination, including patienthandoff to the recovery team Assess, plan, and evaluate the nursing care of the patientbefore, during, and after a surgical procedure until patienthandoff to the next phase of care Ensure that sterile procedures are followed throughout thecourse of surgery Respond effectively to emergencies, such as cardiac arrest,during surgery Perform other duties as assigned within the scope Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection controlguidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills The ability to read, write, & communicate in the Englishlanguage is required Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbalinstructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities
- Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending Interpersonal Skills
- To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
