Companion Nurse for 2025-2026 school year Share link Go back Apply for this job Category Nurse Location(s) Fair-Oak Elementary School Description To provide supervision and academic, functional, and/or behavioral support to assigned student(s) throughout the school day. Continued employment is contingent upon the individual needs of the assigned student(s). Responsibilities Works with assigned student(s) to reinforce the learning of material or skills initially taught by the teacher. Collects student academic, functional and/or behavioral data as needed. Helps assigned student(s) master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher. Assists with the supervision of assigned student(s) during emergency drills, assemblies, at recess, in the media center, class transitions, and on field trips. Checks notebooks and supervises testing and make-up work as assigned by the teacher. Assists with toileting, clothing, and washing as needed. Assists with lunch, snack and clean-up routines. Alerts the teacher to any problems or special information about assigned student(s). Supervises, observes and assists the assigned student(s) at all times. Participates in training activities as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Experience/Qualifications Valid RN license required. Current CPR certification Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Nursing experience preferable in school nursing, public health nursing, or community health nursing with children. Salary Range $30.49 – $40.53 per hour 180 days per year
