The School of Medicine is excited to announce an opening for a Nurse Practitioner SC or Physician Assistant SC in the Hospitalist Division of the Department of Medicine. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our patient-centered care team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent medical support services on inpatient floors, collaborating with physicians and hospital staff to promote team-based care.
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, demonstrating autonomy and expertise in diagnosing and treating health issues.
  • Order and perform diagnostic procedures; monitor patient conditions, lab values, and diagnostic results to develop effective treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with MDs on complex cases as outlined in the collaborative agreement.
  • Serve as a resource for patients, families, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals in your area of expertise.
  • Obtain and document thorough histories and physical exams, effectively communicating relevant medical information to surgeons and physicians.
  • Identify trends in patient care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and implementing standards for structure, process, and outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Shift
7:00am – 7:00pm, 7 days on, 7 days off rotating schedule with the ability to be flexible when needs arise
Minimum Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing degree.
Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. Must be granted a “Document of Recognition” from the Missouri Board of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Hospitalist experience
Possess a specialty certificate by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board (PCNB), or the National Certification Corporation (NCC). Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
