The generalpay scale for this position at MOH is $33.21 – $51.10 . The actualhiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limitedto prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities,location, work performance, etc.

Under general supervision, providesprofessional nursing care for patients adhering to national andcompany standards and guidelines for specialty regulations.

Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, anddevelopmental and age specific differences in the patientpopulation including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, andthe elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team toprovide for assessment and therapeutic management of patient/familyneeds. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program,to include the Code of Ethics and BusinessStandards.

ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities Specialty SpecificResponsibilities See below for supplementary language regarding SpecialtySpecific Requirements (e.g. transplant, infusion) asapplicable. Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote thecontinuity of care consistent with established standards andpractices. Assesses health status by interviewing patient regardingcurrent status and medical history. Collects and records nursing assessment and interventions. Reviews and reports the results of the health status assessmentand physical examination, pertinent laboratory data, radiographicdata and psychosocial assessment of assigned patients to theprovider. Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and otherinstructional material. Provides psychosocial support to patients and families. Maintains patient confidentiality. Prepares and administers therapies under the direction andsupervision of a physician. Administers all medications/blood products using correctmedication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time andtechnique. Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms areobtained prior to administration of therapies whereapplicable. Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, assessinglabs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, andconsulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems andsymptom management Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintainscentral lines catheter devices. Maintains accurate documentation of assigned patient care andtreatments provided. Applies knowledge of reimbursement procedures and chargecapture. Maintains work environment Restocks the supply area as needed. Follows OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents,biohazardous waste and any other material potentially infected witha blood borne pathogen. Maintains all disinfection protocols. Maintains equipment according to quality controlstandards. Facilitates clinical operations and patient care Manages patient medication refill requests from the pharmacytelephone line and records the information in the patientchart. Assists physician with exams and procedures. Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow in and out ofexam rooms. Facilitates and schedules consultations, pre-testing,diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointmentsfor patients. Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevantinformation in the patient’s chart. As necessary, facilitates communication between patient/familyand interdisciplinary team and coordinates services related topatient care. Assist patients in locating available community resources. Inter professional collaboration Assist and collaborate with clinical research. Acts as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants. Provides nursing coverage for the satellite offices as needed. Serves as mentor/preceptor and provides day to day guidance toless experienced nurses Other duties as assigned Participates in professional development activities andmaintains current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating inongoing educational opportunities.

Transplant RN Position Summary:

Provides nursing care from initial patientcontact through high dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell rescueto follow-up care post stem cell rescue Key Responsibilities (Prepares and administers therapies underthe direction and supervision of a physician.): Managessymptoms/toxicities/health abnormalities related to the intensehigh dose therapy, stem cell rescue and rehabilitation followingrescue in collaboration with transplant physician and/supervisor. Key Responsibilities (Facilitates clinical operations andpatient care): Reports data to company for Transplant relatedregistries and appropriate bodies, International Autologous andBlood and Marrow Transplant Registries. Incorporates companyTransplant Network recommendations into clinical practice asassigned. Key Responsibilities (Inter professional collaboration):

Assists in providing community education to those interested in theprocess of stem cell transplantation.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Business Experience -3-5 years nursing experienceincluding at least one year in oncology preferredSpecializedKnowledge/Skills -Oncology certification preferred
