Performs all activities in accordance with approved policies andguides. Supervises and delegates appropriate duties to ancillarypersonnel.

Essential Functions:

Completes initial and ongoingassessments. Assessments include physical, psychosocial,environmental, self-care abilities, educational, age appropriate,cultural and discharge planning needs. Performs plan of careintervention, including medication administration, specimencollection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical caretreatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, andcommunicates patient condition as appropriate to care team,physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performingactivities of daily living, including personal hygiene,elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as neededacross disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patienttransfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial supportneeds. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture,condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physicaland emotional well-being of the patient. Employee supervisesothers. Assists with orientation and training of others asdirected.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing required Bachelor’sDegree in Nursing preferred Required Skills Requires criticalthinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work withminimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressfulenvironment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

Basic LifeSupport (BLS) required Handle with care within 4 months of hire

Licenses:

Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure ormulti-state (compact) license). Minimum Work Experience 1-3 yearspreferred and recent acute care experience within past 3 yearspreferred.
