Job Description Summary:
Provide professional nursing care for patient(s) and respective family according to established standards and practices.
Description:
Qualifications 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing from a state accredited school (Required) 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred) Work Experience 1+ years Nursing Experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications Required Certifications/Licensures:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Registered Nurse (RN) with current Georgia license Essential Functions
STANDARDS OF NURSING PRACTICE
Provide professional standards in practicing nursing. Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues. Identifies the expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation. Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives for expected outcomes. Implements the identified plan. Evaluates the progress toward attainment of outcomes.
STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE
Provide assistance to patients and visitors when administering care. Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice. Provides leadership in the professional practice setting. Maintains confidentiality.
RN – LEADERSHIP
Directs the coordination of care across setting and among caregivers. Engages in teamwork as a team player and a team builder. Serves in key roles at work through shared decision making. Defines a clear vision including goals and plans and measures progress. Promotes nursing through participation in professional organizations.
CARE PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION
Develops an individualized plan with strategies that address diagnoses. Provides for continuity through a plan that directs other members of the team. Implements the plan in a safe and timely manner. Documents implementation and includes changes or omissions of the identified plan. Consults with healthcare providers and makes referrals as appropriate. Utilizes appropriate community resources and systems to implement the plan.
CARE PROCESSES
Treats patients and families with compassion and implements plan of care. Bases care decisions on plan of care. Monitors and documents patient response. Establishes rapport with clients. Adapts communication style, listens and responds to patient needs. Recognizes age-specific responses to treatment. Provides effective interventions. Respects patients confidentiality and privacy. Supports social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families. Manages difficult or emotional patient situations.
DOCUMENTATION
Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion. Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc. Ensures that documentation is tailored to expected readers / users. Uses correct terminology. Conforms to required style and format.

For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills. Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
