Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State. The Nursing Program Coordinator will perform the following functions: Assumes secondary leadership within the faculty, under the direction of the Department Chair, for the development and implementation of the curriculum. Creates and maintains an environment conducive to teaching and learning. Plans and develop goals and objectives for the clinical units in nursing and ensures that activities of the unit are carried out in accordance with same. Directs the instructional activities of the clinical units in nursing. Maintains relationship and proper communication with various healthcare facilities and the community to ensure that courses and clinical learning experiences are relevant to the community needs and represent state-of-the-art developments in healthcare delivery. Monitors and reviews information concerning enrollment, trends, student retention, student characteristics, etc., to support department/division planning activities. Coordinates and oversees the student readmission process. Oversee the utilization of classroom space, laboratory space, work and storage areas, and equipment; ensures that security measures are maintained. Participate in community, civic, and professional organizations to enhance personal development and to assist the parent institutions in establishing a good image and good public relations within such organizations. Participate in continuing education and professional development programs. Assumes teaching responsibilities as necessary or required. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum and Additional Requirements Master’s degree (or higher) in nursing Hold an unencumbered active current license as a registered nurse in the State of South Carolina or another Compact state At least two years experience in nursing education in both didactic and clinical areas Additional Comments Applicants indicating degree(s) on the application are required to provide unofficial copies of transcripts in the application process and official transcript upon hire.
