The Step-down Unit Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager and collaborates closely with fellow nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Additionally, the nurse will supervise and provide guidance to support staff, ensuring efficient patient care delivery.
The RN will work in a unit specializing in medical step down and pediatric care where both pediatric and adult patients are accommodated, with a focus on conditions such as fractures, post-op care, bronchiolitis, pneumonia, and a variety of other medical diagnoses. The nurse will be part of a fast-paced, supportive unit environment where teamwork is key.
The Step-down unit Nurse will provide direct patient care, managing medical conditions across a range of patient populations, and ensuring effective communication within the multidisciplinary team. The nurse will also play an active role in mentoring junior staff, contributing to skills development, and ensuring clinical quality improvement.
