Overview:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Labor and Delivery department,you will provide specialized care to expectant mothers and newbornsthroughout childbirth. Your role is crucial in ensuring theirsafety, comfort, and well-being during labor, delivery, andimmediate postpartum care.
Responsibilities:
Labor Support:
Provide comprehensive nursing care, monitor vital signs, assessfetal well-being, and manage pain relief options.
Delivery Assistance:
Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, maintaining asafe environment.
Postpartum Care:
Monitor mothers and newborns, provide breastfeeding support, andaddress postpartum concerns.
Patient Education:
Educate families on childbirth, newborn care, breastfeeding, andrecovery.
Clinical Documentation:
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulatorystandards.
Emergency Response:
Respond to obstetric emergencies with critical thinking andadherence to protocols.
Patient Advocacy:
Advocate for patients’ preferences and ensure their needs aremet.
Quality Improvement:
Participate in enhancing patient care processes and outcomesthrough quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications:
Qualifications and requirements: Applicants should have a current State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure and possess an associate or bachelor’s degree or RN Diploma in Nursing.
Additional requirements include:
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) orAmerican Red Cross (ARC)
- Required to be current upon hire
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) orAmerican Red Cross (ARC)
- Required within 6 months of employment,if not current upon hire
- NRP certification from approved American Heart Associationtraining center required within 6 months of employment.
