Certified Midwife Position Available In Giles, Tennessee

Provides independent and collaborative primary healthcare and management of care to women before, during, and after pregnancy, including care of the newborn, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Reports to: Market Operations Manager

• Essential Functions
• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Provides care for obstetric patients to include pregnancy induced hypertension, gestational diabetes, multiple gestations, and routine labor management.

Manages patients with epidural infusions, Pitocin protocols, and other labor pharmaceuticals. Performs appropriate emergency interventions and manages complications.

Collaborates with the on-call obstetrician to assess or manage low to moderate risk intrapartum patients. Rounds on OB and postpartum.

Provides education/counseling to patient and patient’s family with respect to pregnancy, childbirth, care of the newborn, contraception, family planning, and gynecological care.

Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making and the right to self-determination.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.

Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of STRHS-Pulaski.

Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.

• Job Requirements
• Minimum Education
• Graduate of a Program in Discipline is required.

Master’s degree: required

• Required Skills
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

BLS

• current or must be obtained within 90 days from date of hire.

NRP

• current or must be obtained within 90 days from date of hire.

Fetal Monitoring

• current or must be obtained within 90 days from date of hire.

Must renew every 2 years.

Licenses:

Current and active Advanced Practice Register Nurse (NM with CF) license in the state of Tennessee.
