The Registered Nurse in the ICU provides comprehensive patient carethrough the application of the nursing process, including educationfor patients and families. Description:
The Registered Nurse in the ICU provides direct and indirectpatient care. He/she applies the nursing process to plan andimplement the care of patients, including patient and familyeducation and continuum of care planning. The Registered Nurse mustpossess good communication skills and must be able to effectivelycommunicate with physicians, peers, patients and families. He/Sheworks collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team toensure quality care is delivered.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred. Minimum of six (6) months’ recent experience as a professionalnurse. Required Skills Demonstrated proficiency of 50 percent of the skills required forLevel II. Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR current or within 30 days of hire ACLS current or within 1 year of hire PALS current or within 1 year of hire Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Class within in 1 year of hire Required Licenses Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the state.
