Position Summary:

A seasonal RN provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and location for a set period of time, generally 16 weeks; with option to extend and may float to sister facilities if needed in times of low census at assigned location. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Practices in accordance with evidenced-based nursing standards and practices. Serves as a role model to others; demonstrates clinical skills in caring for moderately complex patients. Units Eligible for this

Work Schedule:

Seasonal nurses will be required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period (36 hours per week) and 2 weekends per month OR 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule period. You will also be required to work 2 holiday shifts per 16 weeks. If there are emergent staffing needs, you may be asked to float to another Covenant Health facility within close proximity to your assigned facility. Both day shift and night shift opportunities are available. The standard is a 12 hour shift, with day shift running from 7 am to 7 pm and night shift from 7 pm to 7 am. Shifts can vary based on the needs of the assigned department. Current Covenant Health employees are not eligible for this program. Former Covenant Health employees must have a break in service of at least 12 months in order to be considered for this program. Responsibilities:

Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care. Assess learning needs of patient and family. Develops and initiates plan of care, involving patient and family. Recommends evidence based bundles, protocols and procedural interventions to promote patient safety and reduction of harm events. Evaluates plan of care. Resolves problems regarding moderately complex patient/management/physician issues without supervision. Demonstrates willingness to coach new employees/students as directed or requested by facility. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor. Demonstrates competence in performing skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served. Serves as a resource to peers and supervises non-licensed care givers. Takes initiative to intervene to improve patient care and safety as needed. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education:

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience:

Two (2) years of professional experience.

Licensure Requirement:

Must have and maintain a valid Tennessee RN license or a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). CPR required
