Provides direct patient care to patients using thenursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standardsof practice. Perform cardio rehab as described by the physician andto meet the needs for recovery of the patient. Performs plan ofcare intervention, including medication administration, specimencollection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical caretreatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, andcommunicates patient condition as appropriate to care team,physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performingactivities of daily living, including personal hygiene,elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as neededacross disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patienttransfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial supportneeds. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture,condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physicaland emotional well-being of the patient. Reports to the Director ofCardio Rehab.
Additional Responsibilities Could Include TheFollowing:
Perform other duties as assigned. May be required toperform duties of the CNA, MA or LPN or other nursing staff onoccasion. Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service,projects and committees as assigned. Adheres to and supportspolicies and procedures of the STRHS. Works scheduled shiftsincluding overtime, when necessary. Accepts all call schedule asdirected. Maintains a neat and professional appearance incompliance to the existing dress code.
Qualifications:
MinimumEducation Associate’s degree required. Required Skills Requirescritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to workwith minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressfulenvironment and take appropriate action. Certifications AHA BasicLife Support (BLS) License Current and active Registered NurseLicensure for the State of Tennessee.
