Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processin accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Thisincludes Labor & Delivery, Post Partum and Newborn Nursery.

Reports to:

Director Med Surg and Women’s Performs plan of careintervention, including medication administration, specimencollection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical caretreatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, andcommunicates patient condition as appropriate to care team,physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performingactivities of daily living, including personal hygiene,elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as neededacross disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patienttransfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial supportneeds. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture,condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physicaland emotional well-being of the patient.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required. RequiredSkills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in astressful environment and take appropriate action.

RequiredSkills American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must be obtainedwithin 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12months of employment Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required within 12 months ofemployment

Required Skills License:

Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure Minimum WorkExperience Minimum of six months to one year experience as RN in a hospitalmedical/surgical setting or L&D setting preferred
