Responsibilities Deliverprofessional nursing care in the operative setting to patientsundergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.

• Perform scrubfunctions including the selection and handling of instruments andsupplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functionsincluding monitoring, recording and communicating patient conditionand managing overall nursing care of patient before, during andafter procedure.
• Directly assist operating physician withsurgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure aswell as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgicalinstruments and equipment for use.

Requirements Licensure /Certification /

Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nursecredentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current homestate license for multi-state license recognition “Compact State”obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One ormore of the following required:
• Advanced Life Support obtainedwithin 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• BLSProvider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or jobtransfer date.

American Heart Association or American Red Crossaccepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college ofnursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
