Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processin accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to: Director Emergency Services and Med Surg Performs planof care intervention, including medication administration, specimencollection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical caretreatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, andcommunicates patient condition as appropriate to care team,physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performingactivities of daily living, including personal hygiene,elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as neededacross disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patienttransfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial supportneeds. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture,condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physicaland emotional well-being of the patient. Observes central monitorscreens, interprets, recognizes and records changes in patient’srhythms and notifies nurse as appropriate. Handle with Careparticipation annually or CPI participation every 2 years.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required RequiredSkills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in astressful environment and take appropriate action.
RequiredSkills American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 90 days ofemployment if not current upon hire, Advanced Cardiovascular LifeSupport (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) requiredwithin 6 months of employment. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required within 6 months ofemployment TNCC and ENPC certifications preferred
Required Skills License:
