Job Summary and Qualifications TheRegistered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality,patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specificrequirements of the department, and consistent with the scope andstandards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Incollaboration with medical providers and other members of the careteam, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, andcompassionate care using established nursing models such as”Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocatefor patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to theorganization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleledpatient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overalldepartmental performance.

• Assesses patient pain regularly topromote effective pain management, including reassessments afterappropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, orother functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documentsthe administration of care in the patient medical record in atimely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care byresponding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipatepatient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teachespatients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition,patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible sideeffects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medicalterminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teachespatients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-upmeasures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention,and/or other lifestyle changes.

Prepares patients andfamilies/caregivers for future self-management.

What qualificationsyou will need:

• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtainedwithin 1 year of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must beobtained within 90 days of employment start date
• NonviolentCrisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employmentstart date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1year of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• AdvancedCardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor, or Bachelors Degree must beobtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic CardiacLife Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days ofemployment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALSInstructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start dateMission Hospital is located in Asheville, North Carolina.
