Job Summary and QualificationsThe Nurse Extern delivers high quality, patient-centered care byperforming a variety of delegated basic patient care servicesrelated to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.

Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the NurseExtern assists the nursing staff in providing patient care inaccordance with the Nurse Extern’s skills/training and the needs ofthe Department, and consistently assists the patient care team withmaintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient careenvironment. The Nurse Extern is currently enrolled and in goodstanding in an accredited school of nursing and can performhigher-level procedures once competency is achieved. The NurseExtern may also be a graduate of an accredited school of nursingwith a temporary Graduate Permit issued by the NCBON. The temporarypermit is for North Carolina only (a single state license). Thetemporary Graduate Permit is time limited until the graduate cantake the NCLEX and complete the fingerprint background check forfull licensure.

What qualifications you will need:

• Currentlyenrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing.
• 1 years of nursing school completed preferred
• Temporary GraduateNurse Permit issued by NCBON if NCLEX delayed is required
• BasicCardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employmentstart date
