Provides direct patient care to patients using thenursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standardsof practice.

Reports to:

Director Emergency Services and Med SurgPerforms plan of care intervention, including medicationadministration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as wellas other medical care treatment. Drag Edit Delete Documents patientcare given. Drag Edit Delete Monitors, records, and communicatespatient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient,and family. Drag Edit Delete Assists patients with performingactivities of daily living, including personal hygiene,elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Drag Edit DeleteCollaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patientcare, including patient transfer, discharge, referral andspiritual/psychosocial support needs. Drag Edit Delete Evaluateslearning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/familyeducation appropriate to age, culture, condition, andcircumstances. Drag Edit Delete Works as an advocate for thephysical and emotional well-being of the patient. Drag Edit DeleteObserves central monitor screens, interprets, recognizes andrecords changes in patient’s rhythms and notifies nurse asappropriate. Drag Edit Delete Handle with Care participationannually or CPI participation every 2 years.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diplomarequired Drag Edit Delete Required Skills Requires criticalthinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work withminimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressfulenvironment and take appropriate action.

Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 90days of employment if not current upon hire, AdvancedCardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support(PALS) required within 6 months of employment. NeonatalResuscitation Provider (NRP) required within 6 months of employmentTNCC and ENPC certifications preferred
