Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (RN) Overview The newly opened 12-Bed Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) and ObservationUnit is a dual-purpose unit designed to provide comprehensive carefor patients requiring short-term observation and those needingacute medical or post-surgical care. This unit integrates thecapabilities of both Med-Surg and observation services, allowingfor efficient management of a diverse patient population whileensuring high-quality care in a modern and supportiveenvironment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medicationadministration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as wellas other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living,including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, andambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patientcare, including patient transfer, discharge, referral andspiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and providespatient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition,and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being ofthe patient.
  • Performs patient care in accordance with applicable scope andstandards of practice in other nursing units as necessary. Qualifications:

Qualifications and requirements Applicants should have a current State of Tennessee or Multi-StateRegistered Nurse licensure and possess an Associate’s or Bachelor’sdegree or RN Diploma in Nursing. Required Certifications

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) orAmerican Red Cross (ARC)
  • Required to be current upon hire
