Job Summary East Tennessee State University, College of Nursing, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse at the Johnson City Community Health Center (JCCHC), a state-of-the-art facility on par with any of its kind in the United States. Funded by a generous grant from the U.S. Department of Health Resources and Services Administration, it was established through the vision of leaders at ETSU, the College of Nursing and the College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences, all of whom are dedicated to providing access to basic health care services for all in our community and region. Eligible for Sign-On Bonus – $500 after 30 days of employment. $1000 after completing 6-months of employment within the CON OOP department as an initial sign-on bonus. A sign-on bonus is not eligible when transferring or being promoted to a new position within the CON OOP. The Registered Nurse evaluates and treats complaints following nursing protocols; ensures the scientific application of the principles of nursing, science, patient safety, and patient teaching; utilizes nursing skills in health promotion, disease prevention, and restoration of health; triages and assists registered nurses with the medical procedures; and performs other related duties as assigned. Physical Demands The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job across various settings in the classroom, simulation, clinical, and/or community as required and/or needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position themselves and balance. The employee must occasionally move (including lift, carry, push, and pull) up to 100 pounds or more. The employee may be required to move and/or stay in a stationary position in various settings for up to 12 hours at a time in addition to preparing and closing a clinical shift. Stress levels may be high due to frequently dealing with numerous students, patients, family members, and other healthcare providers. This position demands concentration and the ability to work in emotionally charged situations. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
One (1) year of clinical nursing experience.
Active TN/Compact state RN license or obtained by time of hire. Preferred Qualifications Experience in ambulatory care. Salary based on experience
