Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processin accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Willbe responsible for selecting, preparing and placing instruments andsupplies in a specified order. Scrubbing for procedures as a scrubnurse/scrub tech/assistant. Will be responsible for identifying,disassembling, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling andprocessing of all reusable supplies and patient care equipment usedin the hospital.
Reports to:
Director Surgical Services Performs plan of care intervention, including medicationadministration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as wellas other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patientcare, including patient transfer, discharge, referral andspiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and providespatient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition,and circumstances. Practices strict adherence to sterile technique and equipmentinstructions to avoid infection of patient and self contaminationof equipment and supplies. May assist with Pre-Admission Testing, Interventional RadiologyNursing Care and Cardiographics as needed with competencycompletion.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required. Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in astressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Skills American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must be obtainedwithin 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12months of employment Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required within 12 months ofemployment Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) preferred Minimum Work Experience One to two years OR experience preferred; on-call will berequired Required Licenses Registered Nurse Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure
