RN Outpatient Oncology Rutland-VT-05701-United States TheOncology nurse provides specialized comprehensive and holisticprimary nursing services to oncology patients and their significantothers utilizing the professional practice standards established bythe Oncology Nursing Society and the American Nurses’ Association.

Effective communication skills are required. The nurse must be ableto institute life saving measures. Minimum Education

• Graduate ofan accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred. Minimum WorkExperience
• 2 years general nursing experience required; Oncologynursing experience preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications
• Licensed in the State of Vermont.
• BLS Certification throughAmerican Heart Association.
• Unit-specific certifications asrequired (Oncology, Chemotherapy, Radiation, etc) per specificdepartment operational framework.
• Certification in venous accesstechniques or willingness to obtain. Required Skills, Knowledge,and Abilities
• Demonstrates working knowledge of Oncologyequipment.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of infection control,utilizes aseptic technique and universal precautions 100% of thetime.
• Demonstrates safe knowledgeable nursing practice skills atall times
• based on theory and consistent with policy andprocedure.
• Demonstrates patient education skills.
• Demonstratesmoderate knowledge of basic computer skills. Pay Range = $35.10
