Credentialing Specialist Russellville Hospital 15155 U.S. Highway 43, Russellville, AL 35653 Company Overview Russellville Hospital is a non-profit acute care facility with 49 beds, dedicated to serving northwest Alabama. The hospital offers a wide range of services, including a 24-hour Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit/Cardiac Care Unit, Respiratory Therapy, as well as inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and treatment services. Other services include Rehabilitation Services, Cardiac Catheterization, Ambulatory Surgery, Laboratory services, and Home Health. The medical staff provides expertise in various areas, such as Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Pathology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Radiology, and Urology. Additionally, the hospital functions as an educational clinic for nursing, laboratory, and radiology students from the local area. Summary We are seeking a Credentialing Specialist to join our team at Russellville Hospital. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring that our healthcare providers meet the necessary qualifications and standards to deliver exceptional care. Your contributions will directly support our mission of improving healthcare access in rural areas.

Responsibilities:
Provider Enrollment and Credentialing:

Perform tasks related to provider payer enrollment and credentialing. Gather demographic information to initiate payer enrollment applications. Maintain a detailed spreadsheet documenting the status of applications.

Application Follow-Up:

Ensure timely follow-up on all submitted applications. Contact provider groups to obtain any missing demographic items or required signatures for applications.

Documentation Management:

Scan progress notes into Eclinical Works. Retrieve requested information from other EMRs for our long-term care groups.

Cross-Training Opportunities:

Participate in cross-training for clinic billing and insurance verification. Verify patient demographics and manage insurance/patient payment posting. Requirements Proven experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in credentialing or medical office administration. Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and administrative staff. Familiarity with managed care processes is a plus.
